Bot Meter

Privacy policy

Effective September 28, 2026

In short: Bot Meter for X collects no personal data, sends nothing anywhere, and stores only your own settings.

Who this covers

This policy covers the Bot Meter for X browser extension ("Bot Meter", "the extension"), made by Sudarshan (@buildwithSud). It applies to the extension as published on the Chrome Web Store and in its public source repository.

What the extension reads

The extension runs only on x.com. There it reads account information that X has already loaded into the page you're viewing:

It uses these only to calculate posts per day and draw a badge next to each account. All of this happens inside your browser. The extension does not read your direct messages, your password, your X login session, or any page outside x.com.

What the extension sends

Nothing. Bot Meter has no server, makes no network requests of its own, and includes no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting code.

What the extension stores

Only your settings, saved with Chrome's built-in storage.sync:

If you're signed in to Chrome with sync turned on, Chrome syncs these settings across your browsers the same way it syncs your other extension settings. Account data and post content are kept only in memory while the page is open and are never saved.

Permissions

Sharing and selling data

Bot Meter doesn't collect user data, so there is nothing to share or sell. No data is transferred to third parties, used for advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness.

Children

Bot Meter does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If a future version ever changes how data is handled, this page will be updated first, with a new effective date, and the change will be described in the extension's release notes.
